In Fort Worth, Texas, ULM was one out away from a no-hitter and held on to edge TCU to begin their series. Cam Barlow (7-4) worked five hitless innings with five walks and three strikeouts to record the win. The Horned Frogs (34-13) scored two unearned runs without a hit in the bottom of the ninth. A two-out single by Tommy Sacco drove in a run to pull TCU within one, but the potential tying run was thrown out at the plate to end the game. Logan Wurm went 3 for 4 with a double, a homer and two RBI for the Warhawks (23-22).

UC scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the 10th in the nightcap to gain the split. Joey Bellini went 2 for 5 with a double, two runs and two RBI for the Bearcats.
