SEC & Big 12 Hold Top 8 Spots in CBI Composite Poll (5/10)

The SEC and the Big 12 have teams in the top eight places in the latest CBI Composite Poll.

There are five SEC schools and three Big 12 teams in the top eight spots.

Arkansas took two of three at home from Georgia to remain the unanimous No. 1. The Razorbacks are first in all six national polls.

Vanderbilt had a 2-1 week to stay in second. The Commodores rebounded from a loss at Louisville to take two from Alabama. Vandy is second in five polls and one in the other.

Mississippi State went 3-1 and bumped up one place to third. The Dawgs won at The Citadel before taking two of three at No. 16 South Carolina. MSU is second in one poll and third in the other five.

Texas had a 3-1 week to rise two spots to fourth. The Longhorns topped Texas State before taking two of three at No. 3 TCU. UT is fourth in four polls, fifth in one and seventh in the other.

Tennessee swept a three-game set at Missouri to stay in fifth. The Vols are fourth in one poll, fifth in four polls and sixth in the other.

Charlotte entered the poll, while Old Dominion dropped out.

The SEC has seven teams in the CBI Composite Poll. There are four from the ACC, three from the Big 12 and Pac-12, two from Conference USA and one from the American.
