Tommy Crider homered and knocked in two for the Bruins (3-4).

In Starkville, Miss., Michael McNamara had two hits and four RBI, and Ben Carew added two RBI as Kent State evened its series with Mississippi State. Luke Albright worked 6.2 innings of one-run ball with four walks and four strikeouts as the Golden Flashes (4-3) built a 7-1 lead after five innings. In Santa Barbara, Calif., Kenyon Yovan ripped a three-run homer in the eighth and added an RBI single in the ninth as Oregon scored five times in the final two innings to stun UCSB in the first game of their doubleheader. In the nightcap, Yovan homered two more times and drove in five as the Ducks (5-2) completed a weekend sweep of the Gauchos (6-4). Brett Walker worked six innings with one earned run for Oregon in the second game. In Game 1, Michael McGreevy allowed three hits and struck out nine in seven scoreless innings for UCSB.
