1 East Carolina
2 NC State
3 Campbell
4 Quinnipiac
East Carolina is scary good, especially at home, where the Pirates are 24-5. Alec Burleson (.370/9/54 and 5-1, 2.98, 5 SV) does it all and is one of the best two-way players in the country. Jake Agnos is dirty on the mound, with a 10-2 record, 2.00 ERA and 131 Ks in 90 IP. NC State is a tough No. 2 and thrives when Will Wilson (.346/16/57) and Evan Edwards (.330/13/58) are at their best. Campbell won the Big South regular-season and tourney titles for the second straight year, getting big production from Matthew Barefoot (.313/13/47). An upset by Quinnipiac would put the school’s political polling center aside in the media for a hot second – if that happens, Andrew Workman (3-3, 1.26, 9 SV) likely will be closing it out.
Sean – It should be ECU and NC State battling in the end. The Pirates are a little deeper all around and are the pick in what will be an incredible atmosphere in Greenville.
Phil: NC State pulls out close Game 7 over ECU to head to a Super Regional.
