In Los Angeles, Jake Pries had a grand slam to spark a six-run top of the first as UCLA handled LMU for its fifth straight win. Garrett Mitchell had three hits and two runs for the Bruins (18-4). Trevin Esquerra (2 for 4) went deep for the Lions (15-9).
No. 2 Mississippi State 18, Mississippi Valley State 5
In Starkville, Miss., Jordan Westburg went 3 for 5 with a homer, three runs and four RBI as MSU outscored MVSU. Westburg had a three-run homer in the third to erase a 3-1 deficit. Rowdey Jordan went 4 for 5 with two runs and two RBI for the Bulldogs (23-3). Willie Johnson walked twice and scored a pair, while Jordan Sawyer went 1 for 3 with a double, a walk and a run for the Delta Devils (5-9).
Georgia Tech 11, No. 6 Georgia 2
In Atlanta, Luke Waddell and Baron Radcliff had two-run homers in a six-run fifth as GT downed UGA in a game called in the bottom of the seventh by rain. Waddell went 1 for 2 with two walks and three runs, while Tristan English knocked in three for the Yellow Jackets (17-8). Aaron Schunk went 1 for 3 with a double, a run and an RBI for the Bulldogs (21-4).
In Raleigh, N.C., Evan Edwards homered and knocked in six as NC State stopped Elon. The Wolfpack (24-1) scored multiple runs in each of the first five innings, including seven in the bottom of the second. Edwards had a three-run homer in the first and a bases-clearing double in the third. Will Wilson (2 for 3, 2 R, 4 RBI) and Marek Chlup also went deep for NCSU. Joe Satterfield and Matt Oldham both had two hits and one RBI for the Phoenix (13-12).
No. 5 Vanderbilt 15, Lipscomb 1
In Nashville, Tenn., JJ Bleday homered twice and drove in five as Vandy downed Lipscomb at First Tennessee Park. Bleday had a three-run dinger in the bottom of the third to start the scoring. He added a two-run shot in the seventh. Philip Clarke had two hits and four RBI for the Commodores (20-5). Maddux Houghton and Chaz Bertolani both went 1 for 2 with a walk for the Bisons (11-12).
Portland 5, No. 7 Oregon State 1
In Portland, Ore., four pitchers combined on a three-hitter as Portland defeated OSU. Kevin Baker (4 IP, 2 H, R, 3 BB, 6 K) was solid in the start. Chris Clements (5-0, 2 IP, H, BB, 2 K) picked up the win. (Cameron Richman fanned the three he faced in the seventh, while Connor Knutson struck out three over two hitless frames to preserve the victory. Cody Hawken had two hits and two RBI for the Pilots (16-9). Matthew Gretler homered for the Beavers (16-5-1).
In Springfield, Mo., Jacob Nesbit had a two-run single in the sixth to spark the offense as Arkansas won at MSU. Matt Goodheart also drove in two for the Razorbacks (21-4). Dakota Kotowski went 3 for 4 for the Bears (5-17).
