No. 3 Oregon State 14, Washington 5 (UW eliminated)
Kyle Nobach and Tyler Malone both had two hits, including a home run, scored twice and drove in three as OSU downed UW in the first elimination game in the 2018 CWS. Nick Kahle had a two-run double and scored for the Huskies (35-26) in the bottom of the third to start the scoring. Preston Jones had a two-run double and scored in a four-run fifth as the Beavers (50-11-1) took a 4-3 edge. Joe Wainhouse and Levi Jordan knocked in runs in the bottom of the frame as UW reclaimed the lead at 5-4. Following a lengthy weather delay, Malone walked with the bases loaded to level the score at 5-5. Michael Gretler had an RBI double in the top of the seventh to snap the deadlock and Nobach followed with a three-run bomb to give OSU a 9-5 advantage. Malone homered to lead off the eighth and Jack Anderson ended the five-run rally with a two-run double as the Beavers made it 14-5. Kevin Abel (5-1, 4 IP, H, R, 2 BB, 5 K) earned the win in relief.
Game 6 between No. 6 North Carolina and Mississippi State was postponed until 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
