In Gainesville, Fla., Alex Faedo outdueled Alex Lange on Friday evening as UF nipped LSU to begin their SEC set. Faedo (4-1) worked seven scoreless innings with seven hits, no walks and seven strikeouts to pick up the win. Tyler Dyson fanned three in a hitless ninth for his second save. JJ Schwarz had a sacrifice fly in the sixth to drive in Deacon Liput (3 for 4, 2B) with the lone run for the Gators (1-3, 15-8). Lange (3-2, 8.0 IP, 6 H, R, BB, 7 K) went the distance for the Tigers (3-1, 17-6).

In Corvallis, Ore., KJ Harrison delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to give OSU the win over UA in the opener of their Pac-12 series. The Beavers (4-0, 18-1) tied the game with two in the eighth on their way to their 13th straight win and matched the best start in program history. Adley Rutschman went 1 for 3 with a walk and two runs for OSU. Luke Heimlich (4 H, R, 3 BB) fanned eight in 6.1 innings in the start for the Beavers, while Jake Mulholland (2-0) worked around a pair of hits in the top of the ninth to record the victory. Jared Oliva (2 for 5) homered for the Wildcats (2-2, 16-5).
No. 19 Oklahoma 11, No. 18 Baylor 3
In Waco, Texas, Blake Brewster homered and drove in four runs, and Kyle Mendenhall scored three times as Oklahoma coasted past Baylor. The Sooners (1-0, 22-4) took advantage of 13 walks and three errors, overcoming nine walks of their own in a game that lasted just more than four hours. Aaron Dodson went 4 for 5 with two RBI for the Bears (1-3, 17-5).
Arkansas 9, No. 17 Missouri 2
In Columbia, Mo., Chad Spanberger had two hits and three RBI, and Blaine Knight tossed six solid innings spanning a two-hour rain delay as Arkansas ended Missouri’s 20-game winning streak. Carson Shaddy had a double, triple and two runs, Jax Biggers added two hits and two runs, and Eric Cole drove in two for the Razorbacks (4-0, 19-4), who tagged Mizzou ace Tanner Houck for five runs before the rains came. Knight (3-1) allowed two earned runs and struck out seven. Brian Sharp went 3 for 4 with an RBI, and Robbie Glendinning had a solo homer for the Tigers (3-1, 20-2).
NC State 3, No. 1 Louisville 1
In Raleigh, N.C., Sean Adler and Joe O’Donnell combined to stymie Louisville’s potent offense, and NC State overcame a 14-strikeout performance by Brendan McKay in a win over the Cardinals. The Wolfpack (4-3, 13-10) scored twice in the first inning as Brad Debo and Evan Mendoza each had RBI doubles off McKay, who allowed six hits in seven innings. Andy Cosgrove added a solo homer in the fifth – the first homer off McKay (4-1) this season. Adler (3-2) allowed one earned run and struck out seven in 5.2 innings, and O’Donnell added five Ks in three scoreless innings for his first save. Devin Hairston drove in the lone run for the Cardinals (6-1, 19-2).
No. 3 TCU 7, Oklahoma State 5
In Fort Worth, Texas, Austen Wade had a two-run double to cap a four-run eighth inning as TCU came back to beat Oklahoma State in a Big 12 battle of College World Series teams from a year ago. Luken Baker and Nolan Brown each hit solo homers in the big inning to tie the game. Ryan Merrill reached on a passed ball on a strikeout, and after an intentional walk to Michael Landestoy, Wade (3 for 4) hit a double to left-center. Evan Skoug contributed a three-run homer for the Frogs (3-1, 15-5). Garrett McCain had three hits and a run, and Garrett Benge contributed three runs and an RBI for the Cowboys (0-1, 15-7).
No. 4 Texas Tech 10, Wichita State 5
In Wichita, Kan., Michael Berglund went 3 for 3 with four RBI as Texas Tech used a three-run first and six-run fifth to beat Wichita State. Hunter Hargrove had three hits and two RBI, and Grant Little contributed three hits, two RBI and a run for the Red Raiders (20-4), who built a 10-0 lead in the first five innings. Martin Davis (4-1) tossed six innings with three hits, one unearned run and five strikeouts for Tech. Jacob Katzfey had a pinch-hit RBI triple and scored for the Shockers (11-11).
Long Beach State 6, No. 6 Cal State Fullerton 4
In Long Beach, Calif., Daniel Jackson had a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth to erase a 4-3 deficit and propel LBSU past Fullerton to kick off their non-conference series. Jackson went 2 for 4, while Lucas Tancas was 3 for 3 with two runs for the Dirtbags (11-9). Luke Rasmussen had a two-run homer in a three-run third for LBSU. Connor Riley (1-0) pitched a perfect eighth with one strikeout to record the win, while Josh Advocate (H, BB) worked around trouble in the ninth with three punchouts to notch his second save. Timmy Richards (2 for 4) scored twice, while Scott Hurst (2 for 4) and Hunter Cullen both went deep for the Titans (15-6).

In Kingston, R.I., Andrew Cox had three hits and two RBI, and Charlie Barnes struck out 11 in six innings as Clemson beat Boston College in a game played in Rhode Island because of poor field conditions at BC. Jordan Greene added two hits and two RBI, and Chris Williams added two RBI as the Tigers (6-1, 18-4) scored five times in the first two innings to take control. Donovan Casey had two hits and two RBI for the Eagles (1-6, 7-12).
Alabama 4, No. 9 South Carolina 2
In Columbia, S.C., Cody Henry and Chandler Taylor both went deep as Alabama took the SEC series lid-lifter against South Carolina. After the Gamecocks (3-1, 15-6) tallied two in the bottom of the first, Henry homered in the third and Taylor belted a two-run shot in the fourth to put the Crimson Tide (1-3, 12-10) on top for good. Jake Walters (4-2 5.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 6 BB, 4 K) registered the win, while Garrett Suchey (3.2 IP, H, 5 K) notched his second save. TJ Hopkins went 2 for 5 with a run for the Gamecocks (3-1, 15-6).

In Chapel Hill, N.C., J.B. Bukauskas allowed three hits and struck out nine in seven scoreless innings as North Carolina topped Miami. Brandon Riley had two hits and two RBI, and Ashton McGee contributed three hits, two runs and an RBI in support of Bukauskas, who improved to 4-0 with a 0.90 ERA and 60 Ks in 40 innings. Zack Gahagan contributed two hits and two runs for the Tar Heels (5-2, 17-5). Carl Chester had the lone RBI for the Hurricanes (3-4, 10-12).

In Notre Dame, Ind., Tyler Daughtry hit a three-run homer to spark a five-run 13th inning as Florida State swept a doubleheader from Notre Dame. Dylan Busby had three hits and two runs, and JC Flowers went 4 for 5 with a run in the nightcap for the Seminoles (5-3, 17-7). Drew Carlton and Jim Voyles (2-0) combined for 6.2 innings of one-run relief for FSU. Daniel Jung had two RBI for the Fighting Irish (2-6, 7-14). In the opener Cole Sands (4-1) allowed five hits and one earned run and struck out seven, and Dylan Busby went 3 for 4 with a homer and four RBI as the Seminoles broke open a close game late with five runs over the final three innings. Jung had three hits to lead Notre Dame.
No. 14 Florida Gulf Coast 7, Jackson State 4
In Fort Myers, Fla., Julio Gonzalez drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth to break a 4-4 deadlock as FGCU edged JSU. Richie Garcia went 2 for 3 with two runs and one RBI for the Eagles (20-3). Calvin Newsome knocked in two for the Tigers (18-9).
Kentucky 4, No. 16 Ole Miss 2
In Lexington, Ky., Connor Heady singled and scored to snap a 2-2 tie on a double by Marcus Carson in the bottom of the seventh as UK evened its SEC series with Ole Miss. Evan White went 3 for 4 with one RBI for the Wildcats (4-1, 17-7). Zach Logue (4-1, 7.0, 6 H, 2 R, 7 K) earned the victory, while Logan Salow tossed two hitless innings with three strikeouts to record his fifth save. Ryan Olenek homered for the Rebels (3-2, 15-8).
Maryland 7, No. 20 Michigan 2
In College Park, Md., Brian Shaffer fanned 10 in eight innings as Maryland topped Michigan to open their Big Ten series. Shaffer (3-1) allowed five hits and three walks with two runs. Marty Costes (2 for 4) had a solo homer in the bottom of the first and Justin Morris had a three-run homer to cap a four-run second as the Terrapins (1-0, 14-7) built a 5-0 lead. Michael Brdar had a two-run double in the third for the Wolverines (0-1 16-4). Oliver (3-1, 6.1 IP, 5 H, 5 R, BB) also struck out 10 for Michigan.
Indiana 13-6, Northwestern 9-5
In Evanston, Ill., Matt Lloyd belted four home runs as Indiana swept a doubleheader over Northwestern. Lloyd went deep three times in the opener, going 4 for 5 with three runs and five RBI for the Hoosiers (2-0, 12-8-1). Lloyd launched a three-run shot in the first inning of Game 2. Brian Hobbie (2-1, 9.0 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 4 K) went the distance in the nightcap for IU. Joe Horscheit went 2 for 4 with a double, a homer, two runs and three RBI for the Wildcats (0-2, 5-16).
New Mexico 29, UNLV 8
In Las Vegas, Carl Stajduhar went 5 for 5 with two doubles, a homer, five runs and five RBI as UNM rolled UNLV to begin their Mountain West series. The Lobos (7-0, 13-9) took control with eight in the second and added six in the third. Jared Mang (3 for 6, 2R, 3B, HR) drove in six for UNM. Kyle Isbel (2 for 3, 2 RBI) homered for the Rebels (5-5, 10-14).
