In College Station, Texas, Turner Larkins and two relievers combined on a six-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts as Texas A&M nipped Vanderbilt to begin their SEC series. Larkins made his first start of the season and allowed three hits in 3.1 innings with four strikeouts. Andrew Vinson (2-2, 3 IP, 3 H, BB, 3 K) recorded the victory, while Mark Ecker retired the final eight hitters with three punchouts to notch his third save. The Aggies (15-7, 36-9) scored their lone run in the first as J.B. Moss reached on an error and scored on a single by Hunter Melton. Jeren Kendall and Will Toffey both had two hits for the Commodores (13-9, 35-11).

In Coral Gables, Fla., Jesse Lepore allowed two runs over 7.0 innings as Miami defeated FAU. Lepore (6-0) surrendered four hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Frankie Bartow (H, K) pitched a scoreless eighth and Bryan Garcia worked a 1-2-3 ninth with one strikeout to notch his 11th save. Johnny Ruiz had two hits and two RBI for the Hurricanes (34-8). CJ Chatham homered for the Owls (30-13).
No. 4 Mississippi State 8, Missouri 2
In Starkville, Miss., Nathaniel Lowe went 5 for 5 with a double, a homer and three RBI as MSU downed Missouri to kick off their SEC series. The Bulldogs (13-9, 31-14-1) scored in each of their final four at-bats, including three in the fifth to expand a 2-1 lead. Jake Mangum went 4 for 5 with one run and one RBI for MSU. Dakota Hudson (7-3, 8.1 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER) fanned 11. Zach Lavy had three hits and two runs for the Tigers (7-15, 24-23).
BYU 9, Pepperdine 5
In Malibu, Calif., Brennon Lund homered and drove in two as BYU topped Pepperdine to start their WCC series. Tanner Chauncy had two hits and two RBI for the Cougars (13-6, 31-11). Michael Rucker (10-0, 6 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K) earned the victory, while Keaton Cenatiempo (3 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K) recorded his third save. Brandon Caruso had two hits and two RBI for the Waves (10-9, 20-20).
