In Chapel Hill, N.C., Joe Tietjen had a diving catch to start a game-ending double play as UNCA edged UNC Wednesday evening. The Tar Heels (21-8) loaded the bases with one away in the bottom of the ninth before Tyler Ramirez was robbed by Tietjen, who threw to second to end the contest. The Bulldogs (8-22) scored single runs in the first, third and sixth before UNC tallied two in the bottom of the sixth. Pete Guy had two hits, including a double, while Carmine Pagano went 1 for 4 with two runs for UNCA. Danny Wilson (1-0, 3 IP, H, K) earned the win, while Jordan Carr (1 IP, BB) recorded his first save. Logan Warmoth had two hits and one RBI for the Heels.
UT Arlington 4, No. 8 TCU 3
In Fort Worth, Texas, Brady Cox belted a three-run homer in the third as UT Arlington edged TCU. Colton Turner had two hits and a run for the Mavericks (17-13). Jake Wilcox (2-2) tossed five scoreless innings with two hits, one walk and three strikeouts to earn the victory. Jacob Moreland (4 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 K) recorded his first save. Cam Warner had a three-run dinger in the eighth for the Horned Frogs (22-6).
Texas Tech 8, No. 9 Florida State 4
In Tallahassee, Fla., Michael Davis had a two-run double to cap a five-run first as Texas Tech topped FSU to split their midweek series. Eric Gutierrez and Tyler Neslony both had a homer and a sacrifice fly for the Red Raiders (21-9). John Sansone had two hits, including a homer, and three RBI, while Taylor Walls (2 for 3, HR, 2 BB) scored three times for the Seminoles (20-7).
No. 4 Louisville at No. 19 Kentucky was postponed due to inclement weather. The game was rescheduled for Wednesday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m.
