Peter Alonso went 2 for 4 with a homer, while Jeremy Vasquez doubled and scored twice for UF. Kirby Snead (2-0, 2 IP, H, R, BB, K) earned the win in relief, while Shaun Anderson retired the final batter of the game to record his fifth save. Hunter Melton went 2 for 5 with a homer and two RBI for the Aggies (4-3, 22-4).

In Coral Gables, Fla., Zack Collins, Brandon Lopez and Willie Abreu each had two hits and drove in two runs, and Thomas Woodrey tossed seven strong innings as Miami topped North Carolina in an ACC battle of Top-10 teams. Woodrey (3-2) allowed two earned runs and allowed four hits, and the Hurricanes (8-2, 21-4) scored seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings to break from a 1-1 game. Logan Warmoth had two RBI for the Tar Heels (6-4, 20-5).

In Nashville, Tenn., Braden Webb tossed eight scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts as South Carolina evened its SEC showdown series with Vanderbilt. Webb (6-1) yielded just two hits, and Josh Reagan struck out two in keeping the Commodores off the board. LT Tolbert drove in a pair of runs, and leadoff man Gene Cone had two hits and two runs for the Gamecocks (7-1, 24-4). Kyle Wright (4-1) allowed two earned runs in 7.1 innings for the Commodores (5-3, 22-5).

No. 11 Mississippi State 3, No. 13 Ole Miss 1

In Starkville, Miss., Dakota Hudson tossed a four-hitter with a career-high 11 strikeouts as Mississippi State took the SEC series opener with Ole Miss. Hudson (4-1) allowed one unearned run and did not walk a batter. After J.B. Woodman (1 for 3) drove in a run in the top of the first for the Rebels (2-5, 20-6), the Bulldogs (5-2, 19-7-1) tallied single runs in the first, sixth and seventh. Reid Humphreys (3 for 4) had two RBI, while Jake Mangum added two hits and two runs for MSU.

No. 7 Florida State 3, Boston College 0

In Chestnut Hill, Mass., Mike Compton and two relievers combined on a three-hit shutout, and Jackson Lueck went 3 for 4 with a run as Florida State topped Boston College in the ACC. Compton (4-1) allowed three hits and struck out one in five innings, and Jim Voyles followed with three innings with one hit. Tyler Warmoth closed for his second save after the Seminoles (7-1, 19-6) scored twice in the ninth. Taylor Walls drove in a run with a RBI double in the fifth, and Lueck doubled to lead off the ninth and came home on Ben DeLuzio’s double. DeLuzio later scored on an error. Mike King (4-2) allowed eight hits and two earned runs in a solid start for the Eagles (3-7, 14-10).

In Corvallis, Wash., KJ Harrison went 3 for 4 with three runs and two RBI, and Logan Ice added two hits, three runs and two RBI as Oregon State scored seven times in the first two innings in a Pac-12 win over Washington. Kyle Nobach and Jack Anderson each had two RBI, and Cadyn Grenier added three hits and a run. That was plenty of support for Travis Eckert (3-2), who worked five scoreless innings with three runs and nine strikeouts. Bryce Fehmel tossed the final four innings with one hit and one run for his first save for the Beavers (4-3, 18-6). Chris Baker went 2 for 2 for the Huskies (4-3, 13-9).

In Wichita, Kan., Luken Baker and Jared Janczak combined on a three-hitter, with Janczak striking out nine in five innings of relief, as TCU blanked Wichita State. Josh Watson had a two-run triple in the sixth inning, one inning after Dane Steinhagen (2 for 4) hit a solo homer for the Horned Frogs (20-5). Willie Schwanke tossed a complete game with three earned runs and five strikeouts for the Shockers (9-17).

In Berkeley, Calif., Ryan Mason allowed one run over seven innings as Cal won the Pac-12 series opener over UCLA. After scheduled starter Daulton Jefferies was unable to take the mound, Mason (4-1) stepped in and gave up six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. The Bears (5-2, 16-6) expanded a 2-0 lead with three in the fourth and added four in the seventh. Mitchell Kranson went 3 for 5 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI, while Robbie Tenerowicz had two hits and two RBI for the victors. Luke Persico had three hits, including a double, for the Bruins (4-3, 12-11).

NC State 8, No. 15 Virginia 7

In Charlottesville, Va., Brock Deatherage had two hits, including a triple, and three RBI as NC State edged Virginia to begin their ACC series. Josh McLain added two hits, including a triple, and two RBI for the Wolfpack (4-4, 18-8). Austin Staley (1-1, 1 IP, H, BB) picked up the win in relief, while Tommy DeJuneas (1.1 IP, H, K) recorded his fifth save. Matt Thaiss went 4 for 5 with a double and two RBI, while Daniel Pinero drove in a pair for the Cavaliers (5-5, 17-10).

In Long Beach, Calif., Andrew Calica and Austin Bush homered, and Kyle Nelson got out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth when third baseman Ryan Clark dove to his right and tagged third for the final out as UCSB edged Long Beach State. Daniel Jackson had three hits and an RBI, and Garrett Hampson had two hits, a run and an RBI for the Dirtbags (0-1, 16-9).

Robbie Coursel (3-0, 2 IP, 2 H, R) recorded the win in relief, while Cameron Ragsdale (1 IP, H, BB, 2 K) notched his seventh save. Kurt Sinnen had two hits, including a double, and four RBI for the Monarchs (3-4, 19-8).

In Fayetteville, Ark., Michael Bernal had three hits, three runs and an RBI, and Clark Eagan added three hits and two RBI as Arkansas held off Missouri in the SEC. Josh Alberius tossed four innings of relief with two hits and three strikeouts, and Doug Willey (1-1) followed with three innings of one-hit, three-strikeout ball after the Tigers (0-7, 15-13) scored three times in the first two innings. Brett Bond homered and drove in three, and Shane Benes homered and drove in two for Missouri, which scored three runs in the ninth before Zach Jackson came on for his fourth save for the Razorbacks (4-3, 19-7).

In Clemson, S.C., Reed Rohlman went 4 for 5 with two runs and three RBI as Clemson outscored Pitt in their ACC series opener. Seth Beer went 2 for 3 with a double, two walks, two runs and three RBI, while Chris Okey (2 for 2, 2B, 2 BB) scored three for the Tigers (6-4, 20-6). Clemson scored in every at-bat after the first, including five in the sixth.
