Mississippi State 5, No. 9 Oregon 2

In Starkville, Miss., Daniel Brown tossed seven scoreless innings as MSU completed a three-game sweep of Oregon. Brown (2-0) allowed four hits with one walk and four strikeouts. After the Ducks (8-5) scored a pair in the eighth on homers by Travis Moniot and A.J. Balta, Reid Humphreys worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save. Brent Rooker went 3 for 4 with a homer, two runs and two RBI, while Humphreys also drove in a pair for the Bulldogs (12-3-1).

Boston College 1, No. 13 NC State 0

In Raleigh, N.C., after its football and men’s basketball teams did not record a conference victory, the Boston College baseball team blanked NC State on Sunday to clinch an ACC series win. The game’s lone run came when Nick Sciortino walked with the bases loaded in the sixth. Six different pitchers combined on the shutout, including four in the ninth. Jacob Stevens (4.2 IP, 2 H, 5 BB, 5 K) was the starter for the Eagles (2-1, 12-3). Justin Dunn (1-0, 3.1 IP, H, 3 BB, 2 K) recorded the victory. The Wolfpack (1-2, 13-4) loaded the bases in the ninth against Donovan Casey with a pair of singles and a walk. John Nicklas recorded a flyout, Dan Metdorf coaxed an infield popout and Bobby Skogsbergh got a fielder’s choice groundout to record his first save. Shane Shepard went 1 for 3 with a walk for NCSU.

No. 14 Florida State 8, No. 17 Georgia Tech 3

In Tallahassee, Fla., Dylan Busby went 2 for 3 with a triple, a homer and two RBI as FSU completed a three-game ACC sweep of Georgia Tech. John Sansone and Cal Raleigh also had two hits while driving in a pair for the Seminoles (3-0, 13-3). FSU scored in four of the first five innings, building an 8-1 lead. Joey Bart had three hits and three RBI for the Yellow Jackets (0-3, 12-3).

Pittsburgh 5, No. 7 North Carolina 0

In Chapel Hill, N.C., Josh Falk and Garrett Wrambel combined on a six-hit shutout as Pitt salvaged the finale of its ACC series at UNC. Falk allowed one hit over 4.1 innings with three walks and one strikeout, while Wrambel (1-0) went the final 4.2 innings with five hits, no walks and one punchout to earn the victory. Ron Sherman (2 for 4) belted a three-run homer in the fourth for the Panthers (1-2, 7-6) to snap the scoreless tie. Pitt added a pair in the fifth. Adam Pate and Tyler Ramirez both had two hits for the Tar Heels (2-1, 12-2).

USC 16, No. 9 TCU 6

In Fort Worth, Texas, AJ Ramirez went 4 for 5 with two homers, three runs and six RBI as USC salvaged the finale of its series at TCU. Jeremy Martinez went 3 for 6 with a double, two runs and two RBI for the Trojans (7-7), who scored multiple runs in four of the first five innings in building a 14-4 lead. Josh Watson (2 for 4) homered for the Horned Frogs (12-3).

Duke 3, No. 15 Virginia 0

In Durham, N.C., Brian McAfee pitched his first career shutout as Duke blanked Virginia to avoid the ACC series sweep. A graduate student, McAfee (2-1) allowed five singles with no walks and three strikeouts. He threw just 94 pitches, with 72 for strikes. While pitching for Cornell in 2015, McAfee tossed 7.0 scoreless innings against the Cavaliers (2-1, 11-5) on March 1 in Charlottesville. The Blue Devils (1-2, 9-7) scored twice in the first and once in the seventh. Max Miller and Griffin Conine both had one hit, one walk and one run for Duke. Adam Haseley had two hits for UVa.

San Francisco 5, No. 4 Oregon State 0

In Corvallis, Ore., James Kannenburg allowed six hits in 6.1 scoreless innings, and Blake Valley and Ryan Matranga each delivered two-run singles in a four-run eighth inning as San Francisco salvaged the final game of its series with Oregon State. Travis Eckert threw well for the Beavers (12-2), allowing three hits and two runs (one earned) in 7.1 innings. The Dons improved to 3-14.

No. 2 Vanderbilt 5, Xavier 2

In Nashville, Tenn., Jeren Kendall homered and drove in two, and Kyle Wright struck out seven over 5.1 innings as Vanderbilt completed a sweep of Xavier to improve to 15-1.  Penn Murfee went 3 for 5 with a run as the Commodores scored three times in the fifth inning. Will Larue went 4 for 5 with a run and an RBI for the Musketeers (3-11).

No. 3 Texas A&M 12, Fresno State 1

In College Station, Texas, J.B. Moss went 4 for 6 with three runs and an RBI, and Boomer White had two runs and two RBI as Texas A&M swept Fresno State. Joel Davis added a homer and two RBI, and Ryne Birk contributed two RBI as the Aggies (15-1) built an 8-0 lead after four innings and cruised to a win. Kyle Simonds (3-0) allowed three hits and one unearned run over seven innings for A&M. The Bulldogs fell to 11-5.

No. 6 Miami 7, Virginia Tech 2

In Blacksburg, Va., Zack Collins went 2 for 3 with a homer and four RBI as Miami won its ACC series at Virginia Tech. The Hurricanes (2-1, 13-3) led 3-2 after five before adding one in the seventh and three in the ninth on a three-run dinger by Collins. Jacob Heyward had a two-run homer in the first for Miami. Danny Garcia (3-1, 7.0 IP, 5 H, 2 UE, 3 BB, 7 K) earned the victory. Phil Sciretta went 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Hokies (1-2, 10-7).

No. 7 LSU 10, Ball State 6

In Baton Rouge, La., Michael Papierski had three hits and three RBI as LSU claimed a series victory against Ball State. The Tigers (12-3) used a three-run third and four-run fourth to take an 8-1 lead. Jake Fraley also had three hits and two runs, while Kramer Robertson went 2 for 4 with three runs and one RBI for LSU. John Valek III (4-0) worked five innings with eight hits, one run, no walks and two strikeouts to record the win. Mike Eppers had two doubles and three RBI for the Cardinals (8-9).

No. 12 Ole Miss 7-6, Grambling State 3-1

In Oxford, Miss., Colby Bortles went 2 for 3 with a double, a homer, two runs and two RBI in the opener as Ole Miss completed a doubleheader and series sweep of Grambling State. Ryan Olenek also went deep and scored twice in Game 1 for the Rebels (15-1). Chad Smith (2-1, 5 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 4 K) picked up the win, while Wyatt Short (1.2 IP, H, 2 K) notched his fourth save. Tray Bell had two hits and two RBI for the Tigers (4-9). Bortles had three hits and an RBI in Game 2, while Will Golsan went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI. Nicholas Wheeler had two hits for GSU.

No. 16 Arkansas 3, Western Illinois 0

In Fayetteville, Ark., six pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts as Arkansas completed a three-game sweep of WIU. Barrett Loseke (1-0, 4 IP, H, BB, 4 K) was the starter and winner, while Jordan Rodriguez recorded the final out for his first save. Luke Bonfield drove in all three runs for the Razorbacks (13-3), with an RBI single in the first and a two-run double in the fifth. Adam McGinnis and Colton Pogue both had hits for the Leathernecks (2-11).

No. 18 UCLA 6, Texas 3

In Los Angeles, Sean Bouchard had two hits and two RBI as UCLU used a five-run sixth inning to win its series against Texas. Kyle Molnar yielded five hits and two runs in six innings, and Brian Gadsby posted his fourth save for the Bruins (8-7). Luke Persico contributed two hits and two runs for UCLA. Patrick Mathis went 3 for 4 with a solo homer for the Longhorns (7-9), who have dropped six of seven games against Cal and UCLA the past two weekends.

No. 19 South Carolina 2, Charleston Southern 0

In Columbia, S.C., Adam Hill tossed 5.1 scoreless innings and combined with Tyler Johnson and Josh Reagan on a shutout as South Carolina completed a sweep of Charleston Southern. Hill (4-0) yielded four hits and struck out eight, and Reagan earned his sixth save. TJ Hopkins had a sacrifice fly to score Dom Thompson-Williams, who had doubled, and Matt Williams hit his first career homer for the Gamecocks (15-2). Johnson got out of a bases-loaded jam with a double play in the sixth inning. Chris Singleton went 3 for 4 for the Bucs (8-8).

No. 20 Louisiana-Lafayette 8, Troy 3

In Troy, Ala., Alex Pinero went 4 for 5 with a homer, two runs and two RBI as Louisiana-Lafayette captured its Sun Belt series with Troy. Derrick Herrington added three hits and two RBI, and Nick Thuman contributed three hits and a run for the Ragin’ Cajuns (2-1, 10-6). Nick Lee (3-0) allowed three hits and three runs in 5.1 innings, and sophomore Dylan Moore earned his fourth save this year and 17th of his career, good for the school record for career saves. Peyton Fuller drove in a pair of runs for the Trojans (1-2, 10-8).
