Aztec Excitement
We just had a tough week losing to UCLA on
Tuesday and New Mexico on Saturday and Sunday, but we beat Long
Beach State this Tuesday taking both of the games against them,
which is the first time San Diego State has done that in a
while, I think.
We
are still ranked No. 19 in the country, which is awesome. Everyone on the team
is really excited about seeing how the season plays out and if we could get on a
roll with these upcoming games. This has been the point in the season where we
have fizzled out the past two years, but this team is different. There is a lot
more excitement on this team I think than the previous San Diego State baseball
teams. We all feel like we have a legitimate shot of making it really far in the
NCAA Tournament. The locker room atmosphere is the same as it's been the whole
year, but players are getting closer to one another, learning about the game and
about teammates everyday so I believe we are definitely headed in the right
direction.
We play TCU this weekend and everyone is looking forward to it.
This will be the most important series of the year for us to see exactly where
we stand going in to these final 15 games of the season.
