Schedules adjusted for weekend

Several series this weekend have already been affected by weather.

Earlier this week, Southern Illinois moved its series with Western Michigan to First Tennessee Fields in Cordova, Tenn., due to the threat of inclement weather. The teams are scheduled to play at 2 p.m. on Friday and a noon doubleheader on Saturday.

Winthrop has pushed back the start of its Johnny Gill Memorial. Evansville will face Winthrop at 1 p.m. on Saturday, followed by St. John’s against Gardner-Webb at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, Evansville and Gardner-Webb tangle at 11 a.m., followed by St. John’s against Winthrop at 2:30 p.m. On Monday, St. John’s and Evansville play at noon and Gardner-Webb meets Winthrop at 4 p.m.

NC State postponed its Friday opener with Appalachian State. The teams will play a doubleheader on either Saturday or Sunday.

Clemson postponed its Friday game with Mercer. The teams will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday and a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Virginia postponed its Friday contest with Lehigh. The teams will play a noon doubleheader on Saturday and an 11 a.m. twinbill on Sunday.

Texas Tech was scheduled to entertain Northern Illinois in a three-game series this weekend, but NIU cancelled all athletic university events until Monday, Feb. 25. The Red Raiders have been added to the UTSA Baseball Classic in San Antonio with the following revised schedule (all games to be played at Wolff Stadium unless noted):

Louisiana-Lafayette vs. Army, 10 a.m.
Army vs. Oral Roberts,  2 p.m.
Oral Roberts vs. Texas-San Antonio, 6 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 23
Texas Tech vs. Louisiana-Lafayette, 10 a.m.
Oral Roberts vs. Louisiana-Lafayette, 2 p.m.
Army vs. Texas-San Antonio, 6 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 24
Texas Tech at Army, 10 a.m.
Louisiana-Lafayette at Texas-San Antonio, 1 p.m. (Roadrunner Field)

Monday, Feb. 25
