In Charlotte, N.C., Hunter Williams hurled 6.1 scoreless innings as UNC thumped South Carolina Wednesday in front of a sellout crowd of 10,205 at BB&T Ballpark, the largest crowd to watch a regular season college game in the state of North Carolina. Williams (2-1) allowed six hits with one walk and four strikeouts. The Tar Heels (24-9) snapped a scoreless tie with three in the fourth, and added three in the fifth, five in the seventh and four in the ninth. Eli Sutherland and Kyle Datres both drove in three, while Tyler Lynn had two hits and two runs for UNC. Clark Scolamiero went 1 for 1 with a walk for the Gamecocks (28-6).

No. 8 Louisville 9, No. 18 Kentucky 6

In Lexington, Ky., Drew Ellis had two hits and drove in five as Louisville outscored Kentucky. The Cardinals (26-7) scored three in the third and three more in the fifth in building a 7-0 advantage. Devin Hairston had two hits and three runs, while Blake Tiberi went 2 for 4 with two runs for UL. Kade McClure (7-0, 6 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 5 K) recorded the victory. Dorian Hairston, brother of UL’s Devin, had a two-run homer in the eighth for the Wildcats (22-10).

No. 1 Miami 8, UCF 4

In Coral Gables, Fla., Jesse Lepore allowed two hits and one run in six innings as Miami downed UCF for its 11th straight victory. Lepore (5-0) walked four and fanned six. Bryan Garcia (1.2 IP, BB, 4 K) earned his 10th save. Jacob Heyward drove in two, while Brandon Lopez had two hits, two runs and one RBI for the Hurricanes (27-4). Matthew Mika went 2 for 4 with a run for the Knights (18-17).

No. 3 Mississippi State 11, Memphis 1

In Starkville, Miss., Brent Rooker went 2 for 3 with a double, a homer and three RBI as MSU mauled Memphis. The Bulldogs (24-9-1) scored multiple runs in five innings, including three in the fifth. Ryan Gridley (1 for 3) drove in three, while Reid Humphreys (3 for 3, 2B, 2 RBI) scored three for MSU. Jacob Elliott went 3 for 3 with one RBI for the Tigers (12-21).

Southern Miss 5, No. 11 Ole Miss 1

In Oxford, Miss., Michael Gilbert had an RBI double to snap a 1-1 tie and spark a three-run eighth as Southern Miss knocked off Ole Miss. The Golden Eagles (26-7) have won three in a row over the Rebels (25-8) in Oxford and 10 of the past 12 in the series. Tim Lynch went 4 for 5, Hunter Slater was 3 for 5 with two RBI, and Jake Sandlin had two hits and two runs for Southern Miss. Will Golsan had two of the six hits for Ole Miss.

No. 12 LSU 14, Grambling State 11

In Baton Rouge, La., Jake Fraley went 2 for 2 and drove in three as LSU outscored Grambling State. The home Tigers (22-11) scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings in building a 12-2 lead. The visiting Tigers (15-17) scored eight times over the final two frames. Antoine Duplantis and Bryce Jordan both went 3 for 4 with three runs and one RBI for LSU. Wesley Drain (2 for 6, HR, 4 R), Daniel Barnett (3 for 3, 2B, 3 BB, R) and Tray Bell (1 for 2, BB) each drove in three for Grambling.

Iowa 22, Air Force 2

In Iowa City, Iowa, Mason McCoy hit for the cycle as Iowa overwhelmed Air Force. McCoy singled in the first, tripled in the second, doubled in the fourth and belted a two-run homer in the sixth to become the first Hawkeye to hit for the cycle since 2007. McCoy added a double in the seventh. Iowa (16-15) scored in seven of its eight at-bats, including seven in the sixth. McCoy and Daniel Aaron Moriel (3 for 5, 4 R) each drove in six for the Hawkeyes. Travis Wilkie had a two-run single in the ninth for the Falcons (18-10).
