After winning its second national title in the past five years, Vanderbilt was the unanimous choice at No. 1 in the final CBI Composite Poll.

National runner-up Michigan claimed the second spot after its impressive post-season run.

National semifinalist Louisville took third. The Cardinals were third in five of the national polls and fourth in the other.

Texas Tech, the other CWS semifinalist, came in fourth. The Red Raiders were fourth in four polls and fifth in the other two.

Mississippi State rounded out the Top 5. The Bulldogs were third in one poll, fourth in one poll, and fifth in the other four.

There were four teams that returned to the poll: No. 2 Michigan, No. 7 Florida State, No. 9 Auburn and No. 18 Duke. The four that dropped out were Miami, NC State, Texas A&M and UC Santa Barbara.

There were seven teams from the SEC in the final CBI Composite Poll. There were five from the ACC, three from the Big 12 and Pac-12, and single entries from the American and Big 10.
