LSU narrowly nipped Vanderbilt to claim the top spot in the 2019 CBI Preseason Composite Poll.
CBI uses six national polls to compile its composite poll: Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, D1baseball, NCBWA, Perfect Game and USA Today.
The Tigers were first in three of the polls and second in the other three. The Commodores were first in three polls, second in two polls and third in the other.
UCLA was third, followed by Texas Tech in fourth and Florida in fifth.
Defending national champion Oregon State came in sixth.
There were eight teams in the CBI Composite Poll from the SEC, four from the ACC, three from the Pac-12, two from the Big 12, and single entries from the American, Big Ten and Sun Belt.
