Andrew Beckwith of Coastal Carolina was named the Big South’s Male Athlete of the Year. The All-American went 15-1 with an ERA of 1.85, helping the Chanticleers win their first NCAA National Championship. Beckwith recorded three wins at the College World Series, tying a record for wins in a single CWS. He had a pair of complete games in Omaha and posted a 0.76 ERA.

Former North Carolina assistant coach Scott Jackson was named head coach at Liberty. He spent the past eight seasons with the Tar Heels after one season as an assistant at Liberty and five seasons as pitching coach at UNCW. Jackson helped UNC reach the NCAA Tournament six times and advance to the College World Series three times. Jackson replaces Jim Toman, who resigned after nine years with the Flames.

Kaleb Davis has been hired as pitching coach at Furman. He previously served as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater, Anderson (S.C.) University.

Steve Holm, former associate head coach at Sacramento State, has been hired as pitching coach at Purdue. Holm worked with the Hornets for four seasons.

Utah promoted Jay Brossman to assistant coach after serving as a volunteer coach. As he enters his sixth season at Utah, Brossman will be hitting coach and run the Utes offense. Tony Asaro will take over as volunteer assistant coach. He was previously an assistant coach at El Camino Community College.

Randy Tomlin will be inducted into Liberty Athletics Hall of Fame. Tomlin pitched for the Flames from 1986-88. He recorded 22 career complete games and four shutouts, both program records to this date. Tomlin had 211 strikeouts in 273.0 career innings. Following a professional career, Tomlin was pitching coach for 10 years at Liberty.

Pitcher Kenny Saenz will transfer from Oklahoma to BYU. He had 16 appearances in two seasons with the Sooners. Saenz did not record a decision in 13 innings and registered an ERA of 3.46.

The American Baseball Coaches Association announced the recipients of the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. Teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher during the 2015-16 academic year. The head coach must be a current ABCA member.
