Jordan Thompson went 2 for 2 with a double, two walks, two runs and two RBI as TAMU took care of UT.

Ryan Targac scored four times, going 1 for 3 with two walks.

Micah Dallas (7-3, 5.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K) was the starter and winner for the Aggies (43-19).

“Excited for our team to get to continue to play,” TAMU head coach Jim Schlossnagle said. “Micah was great. I didn’t think we helped him out very much. But he just kept moving on to the next pitch. And Werner and J.T. continued to get big hits for us. We’re excited to have a day off and get back at it.”

Austin Todd (3 for 5) had an RBI single in the top of the first as the Longhorns (47-22) took the early lead.

Douglas Hodo III delivered a run-scoring double in the second as UT went up 2-0.

Trevor Werner had a two-run single to cap a four-run second as the Aggies took a 4-2 edge.

Targac scored on an error in the third and Jack Moss added an RBI single in the fourth as TAMU took a 6-2 lead. The Aggies added two in the fifth and single runs in the seventh and eighth to make the final 10-2.

“Honestly, I’m a little numb right now,” Texas head coach David Pierce said. “A lot of emotions. A lot of thoughts. It’s not even about today’s game; it’s much more about ending this season with an incredible group of young men that gave their heart and souls to our entire program, to each other, to coaches, to support staff. Very reciprocated by the coaches and support staff. The Aggies were better than us today.”
