Lamar 12, No. 7 LSU 11

In Beaumont, Texas, Cutter McDowell went 2 for 4 with a homer and four RBI, and Robin Adames had two hits and three RBI as Lamar overcame an 8-0, second-inning deficit, to top LSU. After the Tigers (3-1) exploded for eight runs in the second, Brett Brown entered for the Cardinals (5-0) and tossed five effective relief innings with three earned runs. O’Neal Lochridge homered and drove in three for LSU.

No. 1 Florida 8, Eastern Michigan 7

In Lakeland, Fla., Jonathan India scored the game-winning run when Buddy Reed reached on catcher’s inference in the bottom of the ninth as Florida rallied to beat Eastern Michigan. The Gators (5-0) trailed 8-5 in the eighth before scoring twice in the eighth and twice more in the ninth. Nelson Maldonado had an RBI single to tie the game in the ninth before India (2 for 4, 2 runs) scored the game-winner. Jackson Martin drove in three runs, and John Montgomery went 3 for 3 with two runs and two RBI for EMU (3-3).

No. 3 Vanderbilt 9, Eastern Illinois 1

In Nashville, Tenn., Patrick Raby allowed one hit (an infield single) and struck out 11 in seven masterful innings as Vanderbilt beat Eastern Illinois. Bryan Reynolds went 3 for 5 with two runs and an RBI for the Commodores (5-0).

No. 4 Texas A&M 11, Prairie View A&M 0

In College Station, Texas, Ronnie Gideon went 2 for 3 with two doubles and four RBI, and six Texas A&M pitchers combined on a shutout of Prairie View A&M. Ryne Birk had three hits, a run and an RBI, and Michael Barash added two hits and two runs for the Aggies (5-0). Edgar Sanchez had two of the five hits for Prairie View.

No. 5 Miami 7, St. Thomas 6 (10 innings)

In Coral Gables, Fla., Miami scored single runs in each of the final three innings to rally past St. Thomas. There was a 43-minute rain delay in the ninth with the home team trailing by one. Johnny Ruiz (2 RBI) drove in the tying run in a groundout, beating out a potential game-ending double play. Christopher Barr (2 H, 2 R) walked with two away and scored the game-winner on an error in the 10th. Miami had 11 hits and received 12 walks, while leaving a school-record 22 on base. Oscar Aguirre (3 RBI) and German Morales both homered for the Bobcats (7-8).

Louisiana Tech 6, No. 9 UL Lafayette 2

In Ruston, La., Tyler Clancy tossed six scoreless innings with a career-high nine strikeouts as Louisiana Tech knocked off UL Lafayette. Clancy (2-0) allowed five hits and walked three. Adam Atkins fanned three over the final two innings to secure the win. Raphael Gladu (2 for 3) and Marshall Boggs (1 for 3) both drove in two for the Bulldogs (3-1). Hunter Kasuls had a pinch-hit two-run single for the Ragin’ Cajuns (3-1).

No. 15 TCU 17, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3

In Fort Worth, Texas, Elliott Barzilli doubled and scored to start the inning and belted a three-run homer to cap the eight-run sixth as TCU thumped UAPB. Barzilli (4 for 5, 3 R) and Josh Watson (3 for 4, 2 R) both knocked in three for the Horned Frogs (3-1). Tommy Haas had two hits and a run for the Golden Lions (0-4).
