In Lexington, Ky., Alex Destino homered and drove in four as South Carolina downed Kentucky to begin their SEC series. LT Tolbert also homered and knocked in two, while Jonah Bride added two hits and two RBI for the Gamecocks (16-5, 36-9). Clarke Schmidt (9-1, 6.2 IP, 8 H, 5 R, BB, 7 K) picked up the win. Zach Reks and Riley Mahan (3 for 4, 3 RBI) both went deep for the Wildcats (11-11, 27-19).

In Chapel Hill, N.C., Brendan McKay tossed seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts as Louisville took the ACC series opener at UNC. McKay (9-2) allowed three hits and two walks. Zack Burdi worked two hitless innings with four punchouts to record his sixth save. The Cardinals (15-7, 37-9) scored single runs in the second, fourth and eighth before added three in the ninth. Blake Tiberi homered and drove in two for UL. Logan Warmoth went 1 for 3 with a walk for the Tar Heels (9-13, 29-16).

Clemson 10, No. 9 NC State 5

In Clemson, S.C., Seth Beer had three hits and three RBI as Clemson took the ACC series opener from NC State. The Tigers (12-13, 30-15) erased a 3-0 deficit with six runs in the second. Charlie Barnes (4-4, 6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 6 K) earned the victory, while Alex Eubanks (3 IP, 4 H, R, BB, K) recorded his second save. Preston Palmeiro (3 for 5) homered and drove in four for the Wolfpack (12-8, 31-13).

In Tucson, Ariz., Nathan Bannister hurled his third complete game in his past four starts as Arizona took Game 1 of its Pac-12 series with OSU. Bannister (7-1) allowed five hits and one run with one walk and nine strikeouts. The Wildcats (12-10, 29-16) rebounded from a 1-0 deficit with three in the fourth. Ryan Aguilar went 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBI to lead the Arizona offense. Nick Madrigal tripled and scored for the Beavers (10-9, 29-13).

UC Davis 6, No. 15 UC Santa Barbara 2

In Davis, Calif., Spencer Henderson had three hits and two RBI as UC Davis rallied past UCSB to kick off their Big West series.
