In Columbia, S.C., Brigham Hill and Mark Ecker combined on a five-hit shutout as Texas A&M took the SEC series opener at South Carolina. Hill (6-1) allowed five hits and two walks in six innings with six strikeouts to pick up the win. Ecker hurled three hitless innings with one walk and six punchouts to earn his fourth save. The game was scoreless for six innings before the Aggies (17-8, 38-10) plated one in the seventh and two in the eighth. Nick Choruby and Ryne Birk both had two hits and a run for TAMU. Gene Cone and Jonah Bride both went 1 for 3 with a walk for the Gamecocks (16-8, 37-12), who stranded eight.

In Louisville, Ky., Brendan McKay and Zack Burdi combined on a three-hit shutout as Louisville blanked NC State to start their ACC series. It was a school-record 11th shutout for the Cardinals (17-8, 40-10) this season, who have won 10 of their past 11 contests and improved to 30-1 at home. McKay (10-2) worked 7.2 innings with three hits, two walks and eight strikeouts to register the win, while Burdi fanned three of the four hitters he faced in recording his eighth save. Nick Solak homered in the first and the UL added an insurance run in the seventh. Evan Mendoza went 1 for 3 with a walk for the Wolfpack (13-10, 32-15).

No. 1 Florida 4, No. 9 Vanderbilt 2

In Gainesville, Fla., Logan Shore pitched a complete game and raised his record to 10-0 as Florida won Game 1 of its SEC series with Vanderbilt. Shore scattered six hits and allowed two runs with no walks and six strikeouts. The Gators (17-7, 42-8) set a program record with 42 regular-season victories. Florida erased a 2-1 deficit with three in the seventh. Buddy Reed went 2 for 3 with a double and two runs, while Nelson Maldonado drove in two for the Gators. Julian Infante and Will Toffey both had two hits and one run for the Commodores (14-11, 36-14).

No. 16 Rice 9, No. 18 Florida Atlantic 1

In Houston, Jon Duplantier struck out 11 as Rice routed FAU in the Conference USA series opener. Duplantier (7-4) worked 6.2 innings with four hits, one run and four walks. The home Owls (19-6, 32-15) scored multiple runs in four innings, including a pair in the first. Tristan Gray homered and drove in five for the victors. Esteban Puerta went 1 for 3 with two walks for the visiting Owls (17-8, 33-15).

In Coral Gables, Fla., Carl Chester launched a three-run homer to break a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning as Miami edged Pittsburgh to kick off their ACC series. Willie Abreu had two hits and two RBI, and Edgar Michelangeli went 3 for 3 with a run and an RBI for the Hurricanes (17-6, 38-9). Charles Leblanc went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI for the Panthers (10-13, 25-21).

In Auburn, Ala., Dakota Hudson tossed a six-hit shutout as MSU took the SEC series opener at Auburn. Hudson (8-3) walked one and fanned six. Jack Kruger homered for the Bullodgs (35-14-1), who scored three in the third and one in the sixth. Niko Buentello had two hits for the Tigers (8-17, 22-28).

Duke 5, No. 5 Florida State 4

In Durham, N.C., Jack Labosky and Michael Smicklas both had two-run homers as Duke took the ACC series opener from FSU. The Blue Devils (11-14, 30-20) snapped a 2-2 tie with three in the third. Kellen Urbon (7-1, 6.1 IP, 9 H, 4 R, BB, 4 K) earned the victory, while Mitch Stallings pitched a scoreless ninth with one strikeout to register his eighth save. Taylor Walls went 4 for 5 with two runs and two RBI for the Seminoles (14-7, 32-16).

In Waco, Texas, Drew Tolson allowed two earned runs over seven innings as Baylor won the Big 12 series opener from TCU. Tolson (5-3) allowed eight hits and five walks with three strikeouts. Troy Montemayor pitched a hitless ninth with one strikeout to record his 11th save. Kamero Esthay tripled and drove in two for the Bears (7-12, 21-25). Connor Wanhanen went 4 for 4 with a double and an RBI, while Cam Warner had three hits and a run for the Horned Frogs (11-8, 33-13).

In Oxford, Miss., Errol Robinson went 5 for 6 with four runs and three RBI to lead Ole Miss to an SEC series win over UK. The Rebels (16-10, 38-13) scored three in the first, three in the fourth and five in the fifth to take an 11-1 lead. Tate Blackman (2 for 4, 4 RBI) and J.B. Woodman (3 for 4, 3 RBI) both homered for Ole Miss. Gunnar McNeill had two hits and two RBI for the Wildcats (13-13, 29-22).

No. 13 Virginia 6, Georgia Tech 3

In Charlottesville, Va., Connor Jones went the distance with seven strikeouts as Virginia won the ACC series lid-lifter from Georgia Tech. Jones (10-1) allowed seven hits, one walk, three runs and two earned runs. Adam Haseley (2 for 4, 2 R, 3 RBI) and Charlie Cody (1 for 3, 2 RBI) both homered for the Cavaliers (14-10, 32-17). Kel Johnson doubled and drove in two for the Yellow Jackets (11-13, 32-17).

In Knoxville, Tenn., Alex Lange allowed one run over eight innings as LSU won the SEC series opener at Tennessee. Lange (7-3) surrendered four hits and six walks while striking out seven. Hunter Newman fanned two in a hitless ninth to earn his fifth save. Cole Freeman homered and scored both runs for the Tigers (15-10, 34-16). Brodie Leftridge went 1 for 4 with a double and one RBI for the Volunteers (7-18, 26-24).

Oklahoma 9, No. 15 Oklahoma State 1

In Oklahoma City, Cody Thomas homered and drove in five as Oklahoma blitz OSU to kick off their Bedlam Series. J.R. Davis (2 for 3) drove in a run in the second for the Cowboys (12-7, 31-16) before the Sooners (10-12, 25-23-1) answered with a three-run dinger by Thomas in the fourth. Thomas added a two-run double in a four-run sixth. Sheldon Neuse went 2 for 5 with two runs and two RBI for OU. Jake Irvin (5-1, 5 IP, 4 H, R, 2 BB, 3 K) picked up the win.

No. 8 Texas Tech was idle, but clinched a share of the Big 12 regular season crown as a result of Oklahoma’s win over Oklahoma State. It is the second Big 12 regular-season title in program history for the Red Raiders and first since 1997.

Arizona State 5, No. 17 Arizona 2

In Tucson, Ariz., Seth Martinez gave up one earned run in 7.1 innings as ASU used a five-run first to down Arizona in front of a record-crowd of 6,324. Martinez (8-3) allowed six hits and two walks while striking out six. Eder Erives fanned four of the six batters he faced in recording his seventh save. Ryan Lillary had a two-run single to cap the five-run first for the Sun Devils (12-10, 30-16), who secured their 54th straight 30-win season, the longest streak in the nation. Cody Ramer had two hits, including a triple, and a run for the Wildcats (14-11, 31-17).

Washington State 9, No. 19 Washington 3

In Seattle, Shane Matheny and Ty Johnson both drove in two in a seven-run sixth as WSU rallied past Washington. Matheny finished with three hits and three RBI, while Trek Stemp had three hits, two runs and one RBI for the Cougars (9-16, 16-28). Colby Nealy (1-2) retired the final two batters in the fifth to pick up the win, while Ryan Walker threw four scoreless innings with three hits, two walks and four strikeouts to record his fourth save. Levi Jordan and John Naff both had two hits for the Huskies (13-9, 27-17).

No. 20 UC Santa Barbara 3, Cal State Fullerton 2

In Santa Barbara, Calif., Shane Bieber pitched seven strong innings as UCSB took the Big West series opener from first-place Cal State Fullerton. Bieber (9-3) allowed six hits and two runs with no walks and six strikeouts. Kyle Nelson allowed one hit in two innings with six strikeouts to notch his sixth save. JJ Muno and Sam Cohen (2 for 3) both homered for the Gauchos (10-6, 32-13-1). Timmy Richards (2 for 4, 2 RBI) went deep for the Titans (12-4, 30-17).
