In Austin, Texas, Kamron Fields retired the final batters of the game as UT nipped TTU to kick off their Big 12 set. Fields struck out five in earning his second save. Ty Madden (3-0) tossed a hitless sixth to pick up the win for the Longhorns (1-0, 14-6). Cameron Warren had a two-run single in a three-run third for the Red Raiders (0-1, 11-4). Tate Shaw had a sac fly in the fifth for the Longhorns to make it 3-1. Zach Zubia added a sacrifice fly in the sixth before a pair of runs came in on an error to give UT a 4-3 lead.

In College Station, Texas, Cooper Davis had a two-run single to spark a three-run sixth as Vandy took the SEC series opener at TAMU. Davis had two hits and drove in three, while Harrison Ray went 2 for 4 with two runs for the Commodores (1-0, 15-3).
