In Baton Rouge, La., Nathaniel Lowe was a triple short of the cycle and drove in six as MSU took the SEC series opener at LSU. Lowe (3 for 4) had a grand slam in the first, and the Bulldogs (9-7, 26-12-1) snapped a 4-4 tie with three in the sixth and added two in the seventh and three in the eighth. Lowe scored three, as did Reid Humphreys (1 for 3, 2 BB). Antoine Duplantis had two hits, including a grand slam in the seventh, and knocked in five for the Tigers (9-7, 26-12), who stranded 13.

Virginia 6, No. 1 Miami 5
Nate Eikhoff hit a three-run homer as part of a five-run first inning, and Connor Jones allowed one earned run in seven innings as Virginia held on to beat Miami. The game included a weather delay of more than 80 minutes, and Jones (8-1) returned after the delay, allowing four runs but only one earned for the Cavaliers (10-9, 25-16). Christopher Barr had two hits and two RBI to lead the Hurricanes (13-4, 29-7).

In Gainesville, Fla., Logan Shore tossed a two-hit shutout and faced the minimum as Florida evened its series with Georgia. Shore improved to 8-0 and set a Gators record with his 13th straight win. He struck out six and walked one, getting a little help from Jonathan India, who had a two-run single to key a four-run first inning for the Gators (12-5, 35-6). Connor Jones (5-3) settled in a bit and finished with three earned runs and eight strikeouts for the Bulldogs (7-10, 21-19).

No. 3 Texas A&M 4, Alabama 3 (10 innings)

In College Station, Texas, Austin Homan delivered a game-winning RBI single in the 10th as Texas A&M edged Alabama to begin their SEC series. Boomer White went 4 for 5 with two doubles, a run and one RBI, while Michael Barash had three hits and a run for the Aggies (11-5, 31-7). Mark Ecker (3-1, 2 IP, 2 H, 2 K) picked up the win in relief of Brigham Hill (6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 7 K) and Andrew Vinson (2 IP, 3 K). Chandler Taylor had a two-run homer for the Crimson Tide (8-8, 23-16).

Boston College 6, No. 4 Louisville 1

In Chestnut Hill, Mass., Johnny Adams had a two-run single to snap a 1-1 tie and spark a three-run third as Boston College took the ACC series opener against Louisville. Adams finished with two hits and three RBI, while Gian Martellini had two hits and a run for the Eagles (6-11, 20-14). Jacob Stevens (3-2) allowed seven hits and one unearned run in 7.0 innings with one walk and four strikeouts. Jesse Adams pitched two hitless innings with two punchouts to preserve the victory. Colby Fitch went 1 for 4 with one RBI for the Cardinals (13-6, 30-8).

No. 5 Vanderbilt 6, Tennessee 0

In Knoxville, Tenn., Jordan Sheffield allowed three hits and struck out four in eight scoreless innings, and Bryan Reynolds ripped a three-run homer in the first inning as Vanderbilt topped Tennessee in the SEC. Sheffield (6-2) followed up a shutout last week with another strong start, extending his scoreless innings streak to 17. After allowing Reynolds’ ninth homer, Aaron Soto kept the Volunteers in the game, finishing with five hits and four runs (three earned) in 7.2 innings. Ro Coleman had two hits and a run for the Commodores (10-6, 30-8).

State 9, No. 6 TCU 0

In Stillwater, Okla., Thomas Hatch hurled a five-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts as OSU blanked TCU to kick off their Big 12 series. Hatch (3-1) walked one, picked off three and faced just three over the minimum. J.R. Davis went 4 for 4 with a double, three runs and one RBI, while Donnie Walton and Jon Littell both had two hits and two RBI for the Cowboys (8-5, 24-13), who have won five straight. Luken Baker had two hits for the Horned Frogs (9-4, 27-9).

No. 9 Florida State 12, Notre Dame 6

In Tallahassee, Fla., Quincy Nieporte went 2 for 4 with a homer and five RBI, and Cal Raleigh and Dylan Busby each had two hits and three RBI as Florida State doubled-up Notre Dame. Raleigh hit his team-best eighth homer, and Busby had a double and triple as the Seminoles (11-4, 26-11) scored five times in the eighth inning to break from a 7-5 game. Mike Compton (5-2) allowed three runs (two earned) in 5.1 innings for FSU. Ryan Lidge had two RBI, and Jake Sherpski went 2 for 5 with two runs and a solo run for the Fighting Irish (9-8, 23-13).

In Columbia, S.C., Gene Cone went 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBI, extending his hit streak to 25 games, as South Carolina defeated Missouri in the opener of their SEC series. The Gamecocks (12-4, 31-8) trailed 4-1 before scoring four in the sixth and three in the eighth. Jonah Bride had three hits and one RBI for South Carolina. Zach Lavy went 3 for 5 with a homer and two runs for the Tigers (4-12, 20-19).

In Lubbock, Texas, Texas Tech trailed 5-0 and expanded a 6-5 lead with seven in the seventh to win the Big 12 series opener against Texas. Tyler Neslony doubled twice and knocked in five, Tanner Gardner went 4 for 5 with two runs and two RBI, while Cory Raley had two hits, two walks and three runs for the Red Raiders (12-1, 31-10). Davis Martin (6-0, 6 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 3 BB, 7 K) earned the victory. Patrick Mathis went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI for the Longhorns (7-6, 17-21).

Cal Poly 7, No. 13 UC Santa Barbara 0

In San Luis Obispo, Calif., Kyle Smith and Justin Bruihl combined on a two-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts as Cal Poly blanked UCSB to start their Big West series. Smith (5-3) allowed two hits in 7.1 innings with five walks and nine strikeouts in recording the victory. Bruihl fanned three of the final five batters to preserve the shutout. John Schuknecht had two hits and three RBI, while Josh George went 3 for 4 with three runs and one RBI for the Mustangs (5-2, 23-13). Shane Bieber (7-2, 8 IP, 13 H, 7 R, BB, 3 K) went the distance for the Gauchos (5-2, 25-8-1).

In Salt Lake City, Luke Heimlich allowed one run in 8.1 innings in the opener as Oregon State split a doubleheader with Utah to win the Pac-12 series. Heimlich (5-1) allowed six hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Jack Anderson had two hits and two RBI, while Logan Ice went 2 for 3 with two walks and three runs for the Beavers (8-7, 26-10). Dallas Carroll homered for the Utes (9-6, 14-22). In the nightcap, Dylan Drachler (2-3, 2 H, 5 BB, 7 K) pitched 5.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory for Utah. Max Schuman doubles and knocked in three for the Utes. Michael Gretler (2 for 5, 2 RBI) homered for OSU.

Wake Forest 6, No. 15 North Carolina 1

In Winston-Salem, N.C., Parker Dunshee surrendered just one run over eight innings at WFU downed UNC to start their ACC series. Dunshee (6-3) allowed six hits, did not walk a batter and fanned four. Will Craig went 2 for 2 with a homer, two walks, two runs and two RBI, while Logan Harvey also drove in a pair for the Demon Deacons (8-11, 24-17). Brian Miller was 2 for 4 with a double and one RBI for the Tar Heels (9-10, 26-13).

In Berkeley, Calif., Nathan Bannister pitched his second consecutive complete game as Arizona blanked Cal to begin their Pac-12 series. Bannister (6-1) allowed three hits and three walks while striking out a career-best 11. He retired the final 11 hitters of the game. Zach Gibbons had two hits, including a double, and two RBI for the Wildcats (8-8, 24-14). Robbie Tenerowicz went 1 for 2 with a double and two walks for the Golden Bears (9-7, 22-12).

Southern Miss 2, No. 17 Rice 1

In Hattiesburg, Miss., Cord Cockrell allowed four hits and a run in 5.2 innings as Southern Miss edged Rice to begin their Conference USA series. Cockrell (7-0) did not walk a batter and struck out six. The Golden Eagles (13-3, 28-11) scored runs in the first and fourth. Jake Sandlin had two hits, including a double, and a run for Southern Miss. Ford Proctor had two hits for the Owls (12-4, 24-12). Jon Duplantier (4-4, 7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 UE, 3 BB) fanned 10 in taking the loss.

No. 18 Ole Miss 6, Auburn 4
In Oxford, Miss., J.B. Woodman had three hits, three runs and an RBI, and Will Stokes worked out of a mess in the ninth inning as Ole Miss held off Auburn in the SEC. Brady Bramlett allowed two runs in six innings, and Brady Feigl (3-0) earned the win with 1.1 innings of relief. The Tigers (5-11,18-20) had the bases loaded in the ninth and got one run in, but Stokes kept them at bay for his fifth save. Niko Buentello had two hits and two RBI for Auburn.

Arkansas 1, No. 19 Kentucky 0 (10 innings)

In Lexington, Ky., Dominic Taccolini tossed a 10-inning shutout and Chad Spanberger homered for the game’s lone run as Arkansas nipped Kentucky to tip off their SEC series. Taccolini (4-2) allowed five hits, did not walk a batter and struck out 10. Clark Eagan had two hits for the Razorbacks (5-11, 23-15). Tyler Marshall went 3 for 4 for the Wildcats (9-7, 23-14). Zack Brown (2-7, 9.2 IP, 6 H, R, 2 BB, 6 K) suffered the loss after pitching nine scoreless innings.

FIU 7, No. 20 FAU 6

In Miami, Nick Day had two hits and two RBI, and Zach Files contributed two RBI as FIU rallied from a 6-0 deficit after two innings to knock off FAU. Kenny Meimerstorf added three hits and a run, and Zack Soria chipped in with two hits and two runs for the Panthers (6-10, 18-21). Billy Endris and CJ Chatham each had two hits and two RBI for the Owls (11-5, 27-9), who led 6-0 before a nearly two-hour rain/lightning delay.
