Minnesota

The Gophers defeated Purdue 6-4 to win 10th Big Ten title. Jordan Kozicky was theĀ  Most Outstanding Player, going 5 for 13 with three RBI. Max Meyer tied the program record with 16 saves in a season. The Gophers are hosting a regional for the first time since 2000. Terrin Vavra (.385, 10 HR, 55 RBI), Patrick Fredrickson (9-0, 1.78 ERA) and Meyer (1-2, 1.34 ERA) were named All-Americans. Minnesota is 17-7 at home and 11-0 on neutral fields. Opponents are hitting .227 against the Gophers.

UCLA

The Bruins earned its 22nd NCAA tourney bid and 10th under head coach John Savage. The Bruins are playing in a regional outside the state of California for the first time since 2004. UCLA defeated No. 2 Oregon State in its final regular-season game. The UCLA pitching staff is third in the nation with an ERA of 2.94 and fourth in fielding percentage at .982. The Bruins are 16-1 when they score in the first inning and 25-1 when they score first. UCLA is 22-6 at home, 13-11 away and 1-2 on neutral fields. Chase Strumpf is hitting .357 with 12 homers and 52 RBI. Jake Bird is 7-4 with a 1.99 ERA.

Gonzaga

The Bulldogs defeated Pepperdine 17-2 in the West Coast Conference championship game. The Zags are in the NCAA tourney for the second time in the past three years and the third time under head coach Mark Machtolf. GU is 12-4 at home, 14-16 away and 6-2 on neutral fields. Jake Vieth is hitting .307 with 10 homers and 35 RBI. Daniel Bies is 7-4 with a 2.50 ERA. Opponents are hitting 231 against Bies.

Canisius

Canisius won the MAAC tourney with an 11-0 win over Monmouth in the title tilt and brings an eight-game win streak into regional play. The Golden Griffins were 11-4 at home, 17-13 away and 7-3 on neutral fields. Matt Mazurek is in his first season as head coach after serving as an assistant coach at Canisius. Ryan Stekl has 15 doubles, 10 homers and 62 RBI. JP Stevenson is 10-1 with a 2.54 ERA. Opponents are hitting .182 against Stevenson.
