Alexander pitches Rainbows past Vulcans

 

Jared Alexander tossed eight scoreless innings to lead Hawaii past Hawaii-Hilo 9-2 Saturday afternoon in front of 2,053 fans at Les Murakami Stadium. Alexander (1-0) allowed five hits and two walks for the Rainbows (2-0). Jonathan Hee and Vinnie Catricala each went deep for UH. Catricala’s solo blast in the sixth gave the home team a 3-0 advantage. UH erupted for six in the eighth as Hee went deep, Sean Montpaisir added a two-run single and Matthew Roquemore ripped a two-run double. The Vulcans (0-2) tallied their two runs in the top of the ninth.
